The Smit Family recently secured a five year lease on a pomegranate orchard from a friend of the family. The five acres of pomegranates are located in the foothills above Oakdale, Ca. just 20 miles from our ranch and we hope to begin its transition to organic this year. Other than Round-Up, which has been used for week control, the fruit is free of contaminants. Having experimented with different pomegranate mixtures we are excited about the opportunity to press this fruit and blend it with cherry and apple juice. The taste and health value will be phenomenal.
